About Kancheepuram Silks
The town of Kancheepuram in Tamil Nadu, India has been famed for Centuries as a great pilgrimage Centre as well as a Center for silk weaving. The city boasts of over a thousand temples and is one of the the seven holiest cities in the Hindu Religion. Silk Weaving has been an integral part of the city since the medieval days and has received rich patronage from the Kings who ruled Kanchi over the centuries.
